Violence, be it domestic, dating, sexual or any other kind can have a profound effect on relationships. The people who inflict violence, the victims and also the spectators get affected deeply. It is not just the physical or mental abuse but also the deep psychological trauma that is a thing of concern with any kind of violence.  It has been observed that 1 in 3 teens experience violence in relationships. This not only affects their growth but also interferes with their lifestyle. Domestic violence often leaves the victims in deep fear and low confidence. This in turn is reflected in their other aspects of life.

To stop this abuse and end relationship violence, NFL Players Association, Verizon Foundation and A CALL TO MEN launched LIVERESPECT pledge to help teens.  NFL Coach Sean Payton extended his support and pledged to end relationship violence. NFL is often followed by teenagers religiously and when someone associated with such a popular league supports a cause, the reach is better and faster. Hence, with Coach Sean Payton’s pledge, LIVERESPECT hopes to reach farther and wider amongst the teens to end relationship violence.

LIVERESPECT educates teens on the importance of healthy relationships and also works towards spreading awareness about relationship violence so prevalent in the society. Whether a person is a victim or a witness of violence, action must be taken and LIVERESPECT urges people to support this cause actively. All it takes is to speak out against violence and treat everyone with dignity and respect. Not much to ask for, is it?
